Announcements 2013 SENIOR TRANSCRIPTSThe 2013 senior transcripts will be delivered by Stafford County's central technology department late on June 21st. The transcript will be mailed the week of June 24th to the college or tech school the student requested on their Senior Exit interview. The student can request an unofficial copy with a 24-hour notice to the counseling center. (due to limited staff during the summer)

SENIOR IMMUNIZATION RECORDIf you need a copy of your Immunization Record for college, a job or parent records, please request them from the Nurse's office Before you leave SHS.
The Nurse's staff is not on duty during the summer and the immunization record may not be readily available. Scheduling Information and Class ApplicationsThis is a reminder to all students interested in taking a CTE class next year that they will need to pick up the required CTE Application in the Counseling Center. Some examples are: Auto Tech, Masonry, EMT, Electricity, Cosmetology, and Carpentry. The applications are printed on green and yellow paper and are located to your right beside the door leading to the main office. These need to be completed and returned ASAP.
Attention all freshmen, sophomores and juniors: Students DO NOT need to sign up to see their Counselors to be seen regarding their schedules for next year. Students will receive a pass from their Counselor to review the white and yellow request sheets they have already turned in. Students will be seen in the following order – juniors first, sophomores and then freshman. (The order DOES NOT determine if a class will work in your schedule or not!!) If a parent would like to meet with the student and their child’s counselor they will need to contact Mrs. Bryant in the Counseling Center to schedule an appointment. CLASS OF 2013The following changes will be in effect for the Class of 2013 graduates:
Honor Graduate status will be 3.8 cumlative GPA Distinguished Honor Graduate status will be 4.0 Cumlative GPA Summa Cum Laude Graduate status will be 4.25 If you have questions please speak to your students guidance counselor during school office hours. Scholarships!Parents and seniors -- remember to check the Scholarships page regularly. New scholarships are posted every 2 weeks! In addition, there are links to several scholarship search engines that will help you find more money for 2-year or 4-year college or technical school. Good luck and keep checking!

Excellence in Civics Diploma SealAttention Seniors! Many of you have given numerous hours of service to the school and community. We would like to recognize your efforts by placing a gold Excellence in Civics Seal on your Diploma. The criteria for the Civics Seal are:
1. Earn a Standard or Advanced Studies Diploma; 2. Complete US History and US Government with a "B" or better; 3. Complete 50 hours of participation in extracurricular activities or community service in areas like: * Volunteering for a charitable or religious organization, * Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, or similar youth groups; * JROTC * Political campaigns, government internships, Boys State or Girls State, or Model General Assembly; * School activities with a civics focus; * Enlistmen in the US Military 4. Have good attendance and NO disciplinary infractions. The application for the Civics Seal is included under the "Important Forms and Handouts" section to the right. Please complete this form and turn it in to Ms. Biggs in the Counseling Center right away! Confidential Scholarship Committee SurveyThe SHS Scholarship Committee is often asked by local scholarship donors to nominate seniors for their consideration based on career plans, financial need, or special circumstances. The Committee is currently distributing to interested seniors a confidential survey to gather this information. All information submitted by seniors on this survey will be kept confidential by the Committee and only shared with donors if the student is nominated for a scholarship. (Completion of this survey does not guarantee that the student will be nominated.)Surveys are being distributed in Government classes and a copy of the survey is available on this page. Seniors should bring completed surveys to Mrs. Bryant in the Counseling Center as soon as possible.
